Pokemon Go’s Nearby Feature Gets Another Update

Pokemon Go continues to evolve with each new update. A good fraction of the updates  fill in the gap left when Niantic shuts down third party services that seek to make the game easier to play. The Nearby Feature seeks to replace third-party Pokemon tracking system and it seems to be doing a quick job of its mission.

Even though the feature rolled out to select regions a couple of weeks ago, Niantic has announced that the Nearby Feature is now available in most regions where Pokemon Go is available. The announcement also stated that a couple of changes have been made to the Pokemon tracking feature.

“To provide a better experience when searching for Pokemon in the real world, we have also made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokemon feature functions when there are only a few PokeStops in range,” Niantic said. “We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary.”

Niantic had first enabled the feature in San Francisco before widening the reach to incorporate other regions in the US and the world.

The improved Pokemon tracking feature will definitely be good news bearing in mind that there are new critters to chase in the game as on December 12. You can also use the Nearby Feature to get the best from the new PokeStops and Gyms Niantic has in place for a limited time.
